Fishing here is different
You do not wait for a bite. You cast a bait, retrieve it with your own clicks and fight each fish by watching your line. Better tackle and better spots mean rarer, bigger catches.
How a cast works
- Cast. Right-click to cast onto water at least two blocks deep. You can cast up to 32 blocks.
- Retrieve. Keep right-clicking to reel the bait in. Faster clicks mean a faster retrieve. Some fish prefer a slow bait and some a fast one.
- Hook. When something bites, right-click to set the hook.
- Fight. Watch your line tension. When the fish runs, ease off the reel, and when it tires, reel it in.
Your tackle
You need a fishing rod with a bait attached. A cast will not start without one. The Light Rod is simply the ordinary fishing rod, made with the normal Minecraft recipe, so crafting a fishing rod gives you one.
To attach a bait or line, simply drop it onto your rod in your inventory. It is used up on the rod, and whatever was on the rod before is handed back to you. You can also hold the rod in your main hand and the bait or line in your off hand, then use /titfishing attach.
Rod recipes
Each rod is crafted in a crafting table in the same diagonal shape. Only the material changes.

The Medium and Heavy rods are unlocked once you have caught enough fish with the one before, so crafting one is only the first step.
Baits and lines
Baits are used up as you fish. Spoon is easy and great for trout, salmon and bass. Softbait and Crankbait favor different fish and sizes. Every rod starts with a weak 3 lb stock line, so spool a stronger 6, 15 or 25 lb line before chasing big fish.

The Light Rod is too delicate for the ocean, deep water and shipwrecks.

Catches range from CommonUncommonRareEpicLegendaryMythic. Lure and Luck of the Sea enchantments improve your odds. Legendary and Mythic catches are announced to the whole server.
